Privacy Policy

1. The short version

Restraint: Invincible Paradox is a free browser game. We do not require an account, we do not ask for your name, email or payment details, and we do not sell your personal data to anyone. The only identifiers that may be used are analytics and advertising cookies (used to measure traffic and to deliver ads), plus a locally saved game progress file stored on your own device.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Game progress (local storage only)

Your unlocked skills, coins, difficulty progress and settings are saved to your browser's local storage so you can continue your run later. This data never leaves your device and is never uploaded to us. Clearing your browser data erases it permanently.

2.2 Analytics and advertising identifiers (Google)

We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads to understand how players find and use the game, and to show relevant ads. These services may set cookies or read identifiers such as your IP address, device type, browser version, the referring page and in-game events (e.g. reaching a new level). Google may combine this with data from other sites.

2.3 What we do NOT collect

• No real name, address, email or phone number
• No payment or credit card information
• No precise GPS location
• No audio, camera or contact-list access

3. Cookies and consent

Visitors from the EEA, the UK and Switzerland are asked for consent before analytics or advertising cookies are set. Until you consent, Google tags run in Consent Mode with all storage denied, meaning only cookieless, aggregate signals are sent. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the cookie settings link on the game page.

You can also block cookies directly in your browser settings.

4. Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)

• Consent — analytics cookies, advertising cookies and remarketing.
• Legitimate interests — keeping the site secure, debugging, and basic service operation.

5. Children's privacy

This game contains stylised fantasy violence and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly. This game is not designed to collect personal information as defined by COPPA.

6. Third parties who may process data

• Google Ireland Limited — analytics (GA4) and advertising (Google Ads). Data may be transferred to the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Google's Standard Contractual Clauses.
• Our hosting provider — serves the game files and receives standard web-server logs (IP, user agent, timestamp).

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own direct marketing.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or export your personal data, and to object to processing. Residents of the EEA and UK can lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority. If you want to exercise any of these rights, email us and we will respond within 30 days.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA): We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined by California law. You have the right to know, delete and correct your data, and to limit the use of sensitive information.

8. Data retention

Local game progress stays on your device until you clear it. Google Analytics retains user-level data for up to 14 months (configurable analytics retention). Server logs are typically rotated within 30 days.

9. Security

The site is served over HTTPS and game data is stored on your own device rather than on our servers. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect what little data is involved.

10. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be announced on the game's main page.
